The location and view of Lake Como from the balcony of our room
Location was excellent, right next to the ferry stop so we didn't have to walk far at all for transport! We had a Lake View Room and it was worth the extra few Euro. Rooms were big and clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and we would definitely go back.
Too many people in group tours...horrible breakfast area...poor service in general
The Location was fantastic.
A bit tired. Also very warm inside, could have opened the windows & let some fresh air in.
The Bedroom was spacious We did not have a balcony but we had a view of the lake. The lady cleaning our room was very sensitive to my wife's need for a perfume free room
The Hotel is not a four star as stated. It is trading on the fact that it is on the lake shore The reception staff at this hotel where rude and dismissive of questions, and were even giving to making facial gestures to each other in front of us. They sat at tables back from the main reception counter and did not stand up or come forward to attend to guests, but remained seated. There general disposition was one of superiority and in no way engendered a positive feeling. Diningroom staff in the morning were very good, as was housekeeping. Tine to shake up old ideas regarding status of Reception at this hotel.
Good location. Helpfull staff.
No entertainment at nights. Not enough selection for breakfast considering it a 4star hotel.
Cernobbio is a good base to explore Lake Como. The hotel is well situated. They have a pool. The reception staff were very good, as were the waiting/bar staff. Room with lake view and balcony very nice.
The female pool side attendant was terrible, we thought she was a guest as she sat the entire time talking to her boyfriend at one of the tables! The breakfast and coffee were terrible - no fresh croissants or bread and weak, tasteless coffee. Our first 2 nights were in a different room with no lake view and these rooms are not nice as they have a view of the car park and the mattresses were so soft it was impossible to sleep.
Very convenient to conference venue. Nice breakfast. Spacious oldy worldy rooms.Good bathroom.
Rather brisk unfriendly welcome.I do not like being asked to sign a form which I have not read. I do not like leaving my passport and would be happy to wait while relevant data is copied.
The hotel has an excellent location, but that is the only thing it has going for it.
This hotel is so severly in need of a makeover that it shouldn't even rate a 3 star, let alone 4 star hotel. The staff was indifferent, the rooms, furniture, fixtures, wallpaper, carpet, etc. were shoddy, soiled and worn, the wood on the bathroom door was rotting, etc. etc. Nearly the worst hotel I have stayed in for the money.
The hotel has an excellent position and the general standard is high. Our room had a beautiful view over the lake. We enjoyed two excellent meals in the restaurant, where the service was faultless.
While the hotel was excellent in many ways, it had a number of weaknesses that we were disappointed to find in a hotel charging 230 euros per night. Our balcony had two rather decrepit chairs and no table. The swimming pool and its surroundings were not as well kept as they should have been. The fact that the hotel appears to take package tours means that at times reception and breakfast facilities were overwhelmed. None of these factors seriously spoiled our stay but they did make us feel that the price was a little too high. We would recommend the hotel but with reservations.
